Create a Whiteboard Only Activity

Learn how to create a Whiteboard Only activity in Snorkl where students share their thinking using drawing or typing tools—no audio required.

Updated this week

A Whiteboard Only Activity allows students to show their work visually using the pen and typing tools—without recording audio.

What Students Can Do

  • Draw, write, or type their responses directly on the whiteboard.

  • Use drawing tools to show their thinking.

  • Click End/Review when they’re finished to submit their work.

1. Click Create Activity

From your Snorkl dashboard, select the “Create Activity” button in the top-right.
This opens a menu of activity types you can create.

2. Name Your Activity

Give your activity a clear, descriptive title.

This helps you and your students find it later.

3. Choose Only Activity

Select Whiteboard Only Activity from the list.
You’ll be taken to a blank whiteboard workspace.

4. Add Your Question and Content

Click on the whiteboard to start building your question.
You can:

  • Type directly on the whiteboard

  • Add images, diagrams, or prompts

  • Use drawing tools to highlight or annotate

Keep instructions clear so students know exactly what to do.

5. Click Done Editing

When you’re finished setting up your question, click Done Editing to save your work.

6. Click Generate from Question

Scroll down and click the purple “Generate from Question” button.
Snorkl’s AI will automatically:

  • Review your whiteboard and instructions

  • Identify the grade level and subject

  • Generate an answer key

7. Review and Edit

Check the generated question and answer key.
You can edit either one before assigning to students.

8. Assign to Your Class

When everything looks good, scroll to the top of the page & click Try as a Student to experience the activity as a student and review Snorkl's feedback on your response.

Click Assign to share the activity with your class.

Tip: You can duplicate or edit your Whiteboard Only Activity anytime from My Library.
