Leaving Teacher Feedback on Student Responses

Learn how to leave written, image, or video feedback for your students in Snorkl.

Updated over a week ago

In addition to the AI-generated feedback provided by Snorkl, teachers can leave their own personalized feedback for students.

You can leave feedback as a typed comment, an image annotation, or a video response — helping students see and hear your thinking just like in class.

Option 1: Leave a Written Comment

  1. Navigate to the student’s response you’d like to comment on.

  2. Below the student’s video or whiteboard, type your comment in the comment box.

Option 2: Leave an Image Comment

  1. Click the video camera icon below the comment box.

  2. Use the whiteboard toolbar to draw, type, or upload an image onto a still frame from the student’s video.

  3. Choose Attach as Image.

  4. Click Send to post your annotated feedback.

Option 3: Leave a Video Comment

  1. Click the video camera icon below the comment box.

  2. Select Record Screen + Voice.

  3. On the student’s response, you can record a short explanation or model thinking verbally using the whiteboard tools.

  4. When finished, click End/Review, then Send.

Students will see your feedback video attached to their response — a powerful way to guide reflection or reteaching.

All teacher feedback appears directly below the AI feedback, so students can easily review both together.

Tips:

  • Click along to a specific timestamp in the student's video response before leaving a comment — this links your comment to a specific moment in the student’s recording.

  • Choose whether your comment is Private (just visible to the student) or "Public" (visible to all students in the class if collaboration viewing is turned on), then click Send.
