Setting a Start Date and Due Date

Control when students can begin and submit an activity.

Updated over 2 months ago

You can set a start date and due date for any activity in Snorkl. This helps you manage when students can access and complete their work — perfect for pacing assignments or scheduling ahead of class time.

What Start and Due Dates Do

  • Start Date: The activity stays hidden from the student view until the set start date and time — once that time arrives, it automatically opens and becomes visible.

  • Due Date: Students can still complete and submit after the due date, but their work will appear as “_ hours” or “_ days late” on the teacher side.

  • You can also clear either date if you want the activity to stay open indefinitely.

💡 Tip: If you want students to stop working entirely after a certain time, change the activity Status to Inactive.

How to Set a Start and Due Date

You can add or adjust dates when creating or editing an activity:

  1. Go to your Classes tab.

  2. Select the class and click the activity you want to edit.

  3. Click the Settings gear icon in the top right.

  4. Toggle on Schedule Start and/or Due Date .

  5. Choose your preferred Start Date and Due Date using the date and time picker.

  6. Click Save.
