Enabling Guest Login

Allow students to join an activity without using Google or Microsoft sign-in.

Updated over 2 months ago

By default, students log in to Snorkl using Single Sign-On (SSO) with Google or Microsoft. However, in some cases โ€” such as quick demos, guests, or schools that donโ€™t use SSO โ€” you may want students to log in by simply typing their name.

How to Enable Guest Login

You can turn on Guest Login when assigning an activity or after assigning it:

  1. Go to your Classes tab.

  2. Select the class and click the activity you want to edit.

  3. Click the Settings gear icon in the top right.

  4. Toggle on Guest Login under Activity Settings.

  5. Click Save.

Once enabled, students can access the activity by entering their name instead of signing in with Google or Microsoft.

Important Notes

  • Guest login responses are saved on the teacher side, but students cannot return to edit or revisit their work after closing the tab.

  • Guest work will not appear in the Insights or the Progress view.

  • This option is best for one-time use or temporary access.
