Activity Sets allow you to link multiple Snorkl activities together so students can move through a sequence of activities. You can decide when Snorkl suggests that students move on based on their score, correctness, number of attempts, or a combination of these criteria.
Activity Sets are great for creating a connected learning experience while still giving students opportunities to use their feedback, try again, and improve.
Create an Activity Set
Before adding an activity to an Activity Set, make sure it is saved in My Library.
💡 Tip: Find an activity you like in the Snorkl Library or your School/District Library? Add it to My Library first. Then, you can include it in an Activity Set.
There are two ways to create a new Activity Set:
Option 1: Start with activities in My Library
Go to Library > My Library.
Select the activities you want to include using the checkbox to the left of each activity.
Click Add in the purple bar at the bottom of the screen.
Select Create New Activity Set.
Give your Activity Set a name and click Create.
You'll be taken to the Activity Set editing page, where you can customize your set.
Option 2: Create an Activity Set first
You can also start with a blank Activity Set:
Go to Library > My Library.
Click Create New.
Select Activity Set.
Give your Activity Set a name and click Create.
Select Add from My Library to choose the activities you want to include.
📌 Note: An Activity Set can include up to 10 activities total.
Edit Your Activity Set
From the Activity Set editing page, you can customize the set before assigning it to students. You can:
Reorder activities by dragging the six dots to the left of an activity.
Remove an activity from the set by clicking the X.
Edit an activity by clicking the pencil icon.
Add more activities by selecting Add from My Library.
Add Additional Instructions that apply to the Activity Set as a whole.
Rename your Activity Set.
You can also select Try as a student! to preview the experience before assigning it.
Add Activities to an Existing Activity Set
You can add activities to an Activity Set you've already created.
From My Library, select the activities you'd like to add, click Add, and choose Add to Existing Activity Set.
You can also open the Activity Set and select Add from My Library.
Assign an Activity Set
When you're ready, click Assign and select the class or classes you'd like to assign the Activity Set to.
Just like other Snorkl activities, you can configure settings such as Limit Attempts, Whiteboard Read Aloud, Whiteboard Translate, Snorkl Coach, and Collaboration.
✨ Activity Sets also include an additional setting: Suggest Next Activity.
Choose When to Suggest the Next Activity
The Progression Rule to Suggest the Next Activity determines when the Next Activity button becomes available to students after they submit a response.
By default, students can move on when they:
Score 3 or better AND are marked correct - OR - they have completed 3 attempts
📌 Important: Suggest Next Activity does not lock students into a specific activity. Students can return to the Activity Set page and navigate between activities within the set. The rule determines when Snorkl suggests moving on by making the Next Activity button available after a response.
To change this, click the pencil icon next to Suggest Next Activity.
You can choose from preset rules, including:
Score 3 or better and correct, OR after 3 attempts
After first attempt
Score 3+
After 3 attempts
You can also select Create custom rule to create your own criteria.
Create a custom rule
Custom rules allow you to choose a score and correctness requirement, a number of attempts, or a combination of both.
When both are included, students can move on when they meet the score and correctness criteria OR reach the selected number of attempts.
💡 Tip: Your custom rules are saved to your account, so you can use them again when assigning future Activity Sets.
Once you've configured your settings, select Assign or Schedule.
Share an Activity Set with Students
Sharing an Activity Set works just like sharing any other Snorkl activity. You can assign or share it the same way you normally would, and students access it through their class or a shared link or code—just like any other Snorkl activity.
View Student Responses and Progress in Activity Sets
Once students begin working, there are a few ways to see how they're doing.
From the Activities tab, you'll see each activity included in the set. Click an individual activity to view student responses, feedback, and Insights for that activity.
Select the Progress tab to see student performance across the entire Activity Set in one place. You can view how students are doing across each activity and quickly jump into a student's individual response.
What Students See
When students open an Activity Set, they’ll see all of the activities included and move through them based on the progression rules you’ve set.
Students can select Start to begin the first activity and complete their response just as they would with any other Snorkl activity.
After submitting, they'll receive their personalized Snorkl feedback. From there, students can:
Respond Again to use their feedback and improve their response.
Select Next Activity once they've met the criteria you've set for suggesting the next activity.
If a student hasn't met the criteria yet, the Next Activity button will be grayed out. Snorkl will let them know what they need to do to move on, and they can select Respond Again to make another attempt.
Once they meet the criteria, the Next Activity button becomes clickable and they can continue through the set.
Students repeat this process for each activity. After meeting the criteria on the final activity, they'll select Done to return to the Activity Set page.
From there, students can see their progress and select Review next to an activity to revisit it or try again.
