Allow or Prevent Pasting Text in Snorkl Activities

Control whether students can paste text from outside sources when completing Snorkl activities.

Teachers can choose whether students are allowed to paste text from outside sources when completing Snorkl activities.

This setting is useful if you want students to generate all of their responses on their own, or if you want to allow them to paste notes, evidence, or text from another source.

How to change the copy/paste setting

  1. Open an activity in Edit mode.

  2. Under Additional Settings, locate Allow paste from outside sources.

  3. Toggle the setting:

    • On to allow students to paste text from outside sources.

    • Off to prevent students from pasting text from outside sources.

  4. Click Save.

What activities does this apply to?

This setting is available to all response types, including:

  • Whiteboard Recording

  • Whiteboard Only

  • Audio Only

  • Writing

💡 Tip

Allowing copy and paste can be helpful when students are expected to reference text, cite evidence, or work from notes. Turning it off can encourage students to explain ideas in their own words and show their thinking directly on the whiteboard.
